Introduction to fortune telling
with playing cards

Fortune telling with regular playing cards is one of the oldest ways of practicing cartomancy -- it pre-dates tarot card reading by about 300 years, maybe more. 

And it's fun! And the basics are quick and easy to learn. 
Here are some of the perks of reading with playing cards:

  • Playing cards are cheap! You can spend only a few dollars on them, and find them anywhere. And it's no big deal if you lose them. 
  • Playing cards are more casual than tarot cards or other oracle decks -- it's no big deal to whip them out at a party or a casual gathering, or even while waiting on the train.
  • A playing card reading feels more like a game -- there's less of an emphasis on high-toned spirituality and esoteric symbolism. 
  • Playing card reading helps you develop your intuition, which helps you tap into your own innate wisdom. 
  • Sometimes, playing card readings are shockingly accurate!

Here's what's covered in the class.

First, we'll go over a brief history of the origins of playing cards, and different systems that have been used for reading them. 

Then, we will talk about the suits and colors of the cards, and do some basic yes-or-no readings. 

Once you are comfortable with the basics, we will do a little intro into numerology, and some traditional meanings of some specific cards. 

Finally, we will practice giving each other readings! It will be fun and you will make new friends.
